Dear restaurant partner,

the currently developing situation around the coronavirus (COVID – 19) poses a tough challenge for us all. Your health and safety, as well as the wellbeing of our customers, employees and riders, is paramount to us. 

We developed a set of guidelines that we are looking to implement with your help in order to ensure the safest possible continuation of our delivery business.

Current guidelines from the WKO allow for the continuation of the delivery business. And after an inquiry made by mjam, chancellor Sebastian Kurz confirmed that pick-up orders are allowed as well.

Just as you are used to – our whole team is going to be available even after 3pm.

Guidelines for safety and health

Contactless Pick-Up of orders:

Please ensure conditions that allow for the contactless handover of the food deliveries:

  • create a pick-up zone (i.e. a stainless steel table) outside of your establishment
  • inform customers using a sign on the pick-up table, that they are not allowed to enter the restaurant and should make themselves known by knocking at the door 
  • place the order on the table in the pick-up zone – avoid direct contact with customers
  • in case of a queue forming, inform the customers that they should keep at least 2 meters distance from each other

Contactless delivery for partners who are delivering themselves:

Please ensure conditions that allow for the contactless handover of the food deliveries:

  • Avoid direct contact with customers
  • To ring the bell, please use your elbow instead of your hands
  • After ringing the bell, place the order at the door and step back 2 meters to ensure a contactless delivery to your customer
  • Don’t carry the food Sackerl at their handles. Instead, lift them at their bottom. The handles are for the customer to use.

If you wish to deactivate the option for cash on delivery until further notice, please contact us at . We already deactivated this option for all restaurant partners using our logistics solution and are encouraging our customers to use online payment instead. 

Contactless delivery for MjamPlus partners who are using our logistics:

Please ensure conditions that allow for the contactless handover of the food deliveries:

  • Create a pick-up zone where you can guarantee that our riders can pick up the order without getting in contact with anyone. This zone should be easily accessible and located somewhere that is not frequented by anyone.
  • If this is not possible, please avoid all contact with our riders. Please disinfect your hands before and after handing over the food delivery.
  • Please provide disinfectant for our riders
  • Please provide access to a sink for our riders to wash their hands
  • Don’t carry the food Sackerl at their handles. Instead, lift them at their bottom. The handles are for the customer to use.
  • Our riders are instructed to not gather in groups.

We already deactivated the cash on delivery option for all orders until further notice.

Information and regulation on hygiene

For your kitchen operations, the guidelines for food hygiene provided by the WKO continue to apply. Please also adhere to these additional guidelines:

  • Wash and disinfect your hands regularly and thoroughly
  • Maintain at least two meters distance to anyone showing symptoms such as coughing or sneezing
  • Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth with your hands
  • If you sneeze do so into a tissue or you elbow
  • Air your space regularly

Opening hours

We are all facing uncertainty in regards to the current situation and it is difficult to assess how the number of orders placed on mjam will develop in the next few days. We are doing are best and ask for your understanding when facing delays in the upcoming days. We would appreciate your support in planning the possible order volume by letting us know if you are available for receiving orders from mjam after 3pm  as of now . Marketing material

In order to inform customers that you will continue to deliver after 3pm, we are happy to provide you with posters and designs. Feel free to print these materials and hang them visibly in your restaurants’ display windows or post the designs on your Social Media channels.
